The Library of the Institute for history of medicine and foreign languages was founded in the first half of the 19th century as Medizinisches Lesemuseum of the Faculty of medicine, Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague. Today we have approx. 20.000 books and 500 periodicals focused mainly on medicine and history of medicine. Roughly 3.500 books are old printed books (older than 1850). Furthemore the library contains some collections (collection of photos, obituaries, etc.).
The library is located in the new building of the institute, address: U Nemocnice 4, Prague 2. We ask researchers to kindly announce their visit in advance to avoid collision with lectures which are given regularly in the study room of the library.
